Bihar floods
At least 55 people have died in rain-related incidents in Bihar following torrential showers that took place between September 27 and 30. Flood-like situations have been clouding the state capital Patna where houses have been damaged and animals have died due to rains. Houses have also been flooded and several shopped have shut down because of the trouble that the rains and flooks have been causing. Routine life has been crippled in the state.
Additionally, boats have been pressed into service to evacuate people stuck on the flood-hit streets. Water has also gushed into many power sub-stations and power has been cut out to avoid any untoward incident in the state. Last year, Kerala was under the flood fury and the state saw destruction on massive levels with hundreds of people dying and houses being damaged due to rains.
