Civic Volunteer Sanjoy Roy, who was arrested in the rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata, was allegedly addicted to pornography and his mobile phone had several such contents, police said on Monday. Roy (33), who had joined the Kolkata Police as a civic volunteer in 2019, was married at least four times and known as a "womaniser", they said. Junior doctors at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Monday questioned why West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee set a seven-day deadline for solving the rape-murder of a postgraduate trainee, asserting they would continue their strike until their demands are met. The Border Security Force (BSF) in Rajasthan has stepped up its efforts to combat the rising incidents of drone-assisted smuggling of narcotics and arms from across the Indo-Pak border. BSF Inspector General (Rajasthan Frontier) M L Garg said the force is employing advanced anti-drone technology, including detection systems and anti-drone guns, resulting in the successful downing of four drones so far this year. Sensational revelations have been made by the Kolkata police investigating the trainee doctor’s murder case stating that a preliminary probe into the rape and murder of the doctor in a state-run hospital in Kolkata disclosed that the accused was addicted to watching violent porn content while drinking at night. On the fateful night, the accused, identified as Sanjay Roy, allegedly watched pornographic content while drinking before allegedly raping and killing the doctor.According to police sources, at around 11 pm on the day of the murder, Sanjay Roy watched porn while drinking liquor in the backside of the hospital at night.
