On the construction of the country's first 'Dedicated Test Railway Track', North Western Railway CPRO Captain Shashi Kiran said, "Indian Railway's first dedicated test track is being built in Rajasthan under the North Eastern Railways, near Jodhpur's Sambhar Station. It is a 64km dedicated test track. High-speed rolling stock would be tested at the speed of 220 kmph. It is being built in two phases at the cost of Rs. 820 crores. It would be complete by December 2025. The work for 27 km is complete... Not just the Indian Railways, but we would be able to test the rolling stocks of foreign countries also..."

Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda has written a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge questioning the Congress party's silence on the Tamil Nadu hooch tragedy. 

"I was shocked that when such a huge disaster has taken place, the Congress party led by you has maintained a stoic silence on this. At this juncture, the BJP and the entire nation indeed demand that you press upon the DMK-INDI Alliance Tamil Nadu government to go for a CBI probe and ensure the immediate removal of Muthuswamy as minister...," reads the letter. 

A BJP delegation led by its state chief K Annamalai on Monday met Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, seeking a CBI probe into the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy that left 53 people dead.

In a post on 'X,' Annamalai claimed that 60 lives have been lost due to the tragedy and also urged Ravi to direct Chief Minister M K Stalin to drop his cabinet colleague S Muthusamy, who holds the Prohibition and Excise portfolio, holding him 'responsible' for the episode. "We also requested the Governor to insist to the Chief Minister to remove the Prohibition and Excise minister," Annamalai added.

Former Odisha CM and BJD Chief Naveen Patnaik chaired a meeting of the BJD Parliamentary Party (Rajya Sabha) on Monday, June 24. In a major setback to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, the Supreme Court has refused to hear his bail plea. “If we pass an order now, we will be prejudging the issue. It is not a subordinate court, it is a High Court,” said Justice Misra.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday called on BJP leader B Mahtab ahead of his swearing in as pro-tem speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha by President Droupadi Murmu. Rijiju was accompanied by his deputies Arjun Ram Meghwal and L Murugan.

Union minister Ramdas Athawale has said his Republican Party of India (A) supports conducting a caste census in the country and believes some way should be found for it. "My party demands that some way should be found because once the caste-based census is done, we will know the percentage of every caste in the population," the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said.       

Maintaining that it will provide "significant benefits" in employment for the OBC category, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Sunday announced an increase in annual income limit for creamy layer from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.

Saini was addressing a gathering at 'OBC Morcha Sarv Samaj Samrasta Sammelan' held in Gurugram. The move comes months before Haryana Assembly polls likely to be held in October.

In the first session of Lok Sabha, the Opposition is likely to protest over the issue of irregularities in the NEET and UGC-NET examination. 

All INDI bloc MPs will enter the Lok Sabha together, to represent the unity in the alliance, said reports. The MPs are likely to carry a constitution.
