Security Tightened Along Kanwar Yatra Route in Noida, Haridwar

Security has been tightened along the Kanwar Yatra route in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar and Uttarakhand's Haridwar, with officials expecting a substantial increase in the numbers of pilgrims this year.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police on Saturday said it has established a dedicated "Kanwar Cell" and will set up 10 temporary outposts on pilgrim routes for law and order.

In Haridwar, the entire Kanwar fair area has been divided into 13 super zones, 31 zones and 126 sectors for better crowd management.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections are crucial for protecting tribals and Hindus, as the "demography of the state is changing due to Bangladeshi infiltration".

Sarma, who is also the BJP's election co-incharge for Jharkhand, was addressing party workers during the extended executive committee meeting of the party in Ranchi's Prabhat Tara Ground.

Sarma expressed concern that after Assam and West Bengal, Jharkhand might be the next target for Bangladeshi infiltrators. (With inputs from PTI)

NIV Pune Confirms Suspected Case of 14-Year-Old Boy Is Nipah Positive

NIV Pune has confirmed that the suspected case of a 14-year-old boy is Nipah positive.  A contact list of the boys will be prepared and the samples of those in a high-risk category will be sent for testing. A meeting will be held with the district collector and district police chief to discuss the restrictions to be imposed in the 3 km radius of the epicentre. Residents of Malappuram should wear masks compulsory and remain cautious, said Health Minister Veena George.

Over 2000 NEET-UG candidates from Sikar centres score above 650 marks, over 4k above 600 marks

 Over 75 NEET-UG candidates from each centre in Rajasthan's Sikar have scored above 600 marks with the number going upto 150 at few centres.

According to an analysis of the centre-wise result for the medical entrance, the average of candidates scoring above 600 in Sikar is much higher than the national average.

For instance at a centre in Aravali Public School, over 90 out of 942 candidates scored above 600 and seven above 700.

Similarly, in Mody Institute of Technology centre, over 110 candidates scored above 600.

CBI Arrests 3 Persons, Including 2 Medical Students of Bharatpur Medical College in Patna NEET-UG Paper Leak Case

In the Patna NEET-UG paper leak case, the CBI arrested three persons, including two medical students of Bharatpur Medical College. The arrested medical students have been identified as Kumar Manglam Bishnoi and Deepender Kumar. The technical surveillance has confirmed their presence in Hazaribagh on the day of the exam. The other arrested person, Shashi Kumar Paswan, is an 'all-rounder'. He was providing all kinds of support to the kingpin, said CBI Sources.
