Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi Reaches Jammu

Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Saturday convened a high-level meeting to take steps to prevent a Nipah outbreak in the state. The meeting was convened in the wake of an outbreak of the virus infection that was suspected in northern Malappuram district.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections are crucial for protecting tribals and Hindus, as the "demography of the state is changing due to Bangladeshi infiltration".

Sarma, who is also the BJP's election co-incharge for Jharkhand, was addressing party workers during the extended executive committee meeting of the party in Ranchi's Prabhat Tara Ground.

 Over 75 NEET-UG candidates from each centre in Rajasthan's Sikar have scored above 600 marks with the number going upto 150 at few centres.

According to an analysis of the centre-wise result for the medical entrance, the average of candidates scoring above 600 in Sikar is much higher than the national average.

For instance at a centre in Aravali Public School, over 90 out of 942 candidates scored above 600 and seven above 700.

Similarly, in Mody Institute of Technology centre, over 110 candidates scored above 600.

In the Patna NEET-UG paper leak case, the CBI arrested three persons, including two medical students of Bharatpur Medical College. The arrested medical students have been identified as Kumar Manglam Bishnoi and Deepender Kumar. The technical surveillance has confirmed their presence in Hazaribagh on the day of the exam. Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Nipah virus, "A suspected case of Nipah (virus) has been reported in Malappuram, we have done PCR tests and we have sent the test samples to Pune virology lab, we are waiting for the results. Since we suspect Nipah, the protocol is in place...We have held a meeting with the additional chief secretary of the health department, director of National Health Mission and district collectors of Malappuram and Kozhikode."
