UHM Shah to move 3 amended criminal bills:The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will move the three amended criminal law bills for consideration and passage, replacing the IPC, CrPC and Indian Evidence Act. The three bills were passed in the Lok Sabha on the last day of the Parliament's Monsoon Session. The bills are Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, 2023, The Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill, 2023; and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, 2023, which aim to replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Indian Evidence Act, 1872, and CrPC, respectively. The bills were introduced in the lower house this week.Shah said that the bills have been withdrawn and the three new bills introduced with a few changes made.
