Indian Air Force performs air show near Jal Mahal in Jaipur

On the special occasion of the 76th year of Jammu and Kashmir’s accession to the Indian Union and the Diamond Jubilee of the Air Force station in Jammu

The Surya Kiran aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday, 16th September 23 performed an air show in Jaipur. There were a total of 9 aircraft of the IAF that participated in this air show in the vicinity of Jal Mahal in Jaipur.

According to the PRO (Defence) official statement, the air show will feature renowned IAF units. This will include the world-famous IAF Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT), the Akashganga Daredevil Skydiving team, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), MI17 helicopters and the IAF band. Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft are also expected to showcase low-level manoeuvring and acrobatics.

The event is taking place on September 22 and 23rd 23 from 09:30 -11:00 am. The event will showcase the scintillating and spectacular display of precision flying and performance by the aircraft team, flying hawk MK-32, MI-17 medium-lift helicopters showcasing the slithering and small team insertion, extraction techniques, free fall para jumpers and precision drill movements by AWDT.

The SKAT, also known as the 52 SQN of the IAF was formed in the year 1996. The team has completed more than 600 displays across the length and breadth of the country and abroad. It is one of the very few nine-aircraft field display teams in the world. The 130 helicopter unit, which is a resident unit of Jammu, will showcase its helicopter Operations along with the Garud Commandos of the IAF.

To inspire the next generation to join the elite military, the display will highlight the IAF's operational capabilities. The program will also try to educate the general public about aviation hazards and how they can help with safety. In addition to schools, Air Veterans, Civil Dignitaries, members of the armed services, and visitors from Air Force Station, Jammu, the exhibit will be accessible to the general public. Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of the Union territory, will attend as the main guest.
