Infantry personifies diligence & bravery, says PM Modi on Infantry Day
as the Army celebrated 73rd Infantry Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to the soldiers on saying "infantry personifies diligence & bravery".

As the Army celebrated 73rd Infantry Day on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to the soldiers on saying "infantry personifies diligence and bravery". Infantry Day is observed on October 27 to mark the first Infantry action post-independence. On this day in 1947, the leading elements of the Indian Army from 1st Battalion of the Sikh Regiment was airlifted from Delhi to Srinagar and gallantly fought the raiders aided by Pakistan Army.

Amry Chief lays wreath
To commemorate the selfless dedication by infantrymen, the Indian Army Chief of Staff, General Bipin Rawat on Sunday laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in Delhi. He also paid tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the country.

Marathon run on Infantry Day
To celebrate the day, the Infantry School has announced the first edition of The Infantry Marathon on November 3 at Mhow in Indore. According to reports, the school is one of the premier military training institutes in India and is held as the alma mater of Infantry.
Rajnath Singh extends wishes
Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh on Sunday has extended his wishes to the army soldiers on Infantry day. He said that the "nation will never forget the selfless service and sacrifice" of the soldiers.
