IRCTC Updates: Indian Railways announce more trains, iMudra wallet
IRCTC has recently announced many new trains and transaction systems which will make travel more convenient. Here are some latest announcements made by IRCTC
Indian Railways is among the biggest train systems in the world, and it operates around 13,000 passenger trains every day. To make the travel of over 1.3 billion Indians safe and easy, the Indian Railways regularly comes up with many new schemes and rules. Indian Railways has recently announced many new trains, Yatra packages, and transaction systems which will make travel more convenient for all Indians.
Here are the latest announcements made by Indian Railways:
Five new tourist trains
To give travel enthusiasts more options, the IRCTC has decided to launch five more tourist trains. Though the Indian Railways already have special tourist trains, these trains will be added to aid increased railway tourism in India. The coaches of the trains are in the making at a workshop located in Bhopal. According to the sources at IRCTC, each train will consist of 19 coaches, out of which, one will be an AC three-tier coach, 14 sleeper class coaches, two pantry cars, and two seating cars. Railway officials also reveal that the corporation is thinking of making these trains filled with upgraded facilities.
Tejas Express trains
IRCTC is all set to launch two Tejas Express trains to earn more revenue on a very busy route. This will be the first time IRCTC will be managing the full services of the trains. According to reports, Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express will start running in October 2019, and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad train will start its services in December 2019. The trains are expected to run six days a week. Officials have said that IRCTC will hold advertisement rights to these trains.
iMudra wallets
IRCTC launched iMudra wallets to provide an easy way to book tickets, pay or send money. Passengers will be able to do various transactions through the wallet app. The iMudra wallet app is available for all platforms, including mobile apps, tablets, and desktops. Since the app comes with a virtual and physical card, the transactions will be hassle-free.
