After the Modi government on Monday moved to scrap Article 370 pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir and fully integrate the state with India while simultaneously bifurcating it into two union territories - J&K and Ladakh - former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi took to Twitter yet again to attack India's historic move.
Afridi said Kashmiris must 'be given their due rights as per UN resolution'. He also said that the world peace body United Nations was sleeping. Afridi tried to bring in Donald Trump and ignorantly said that the 'US President must play his role to mediate.' This despite the United States clarifying that Kashmir remains a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and that Pakistan must stop supporting terror groups against India.
East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir, who is not unfamiliar with giving it back to Shahid Afridi, did so once again saying the unprovoked aggression and crimes against humanity would indeed be sorted, except that they were happening in PoK.
In an acid tweet, Gambhir said that Afridi is spot on but the only thing he forgot to mention that all this is happening in "Pakistan Occupied Kashmir". Take a look at his tweet -
Home Minister Amit Shah moved the resolution on Article 370 and a separate bill to bifurcate the state into two separate union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The statement read, "Further, keeping in view the prevailing internal security situation, fuelled by cross border terrorism in the existing state of Jammu and Kashmir, a separate Union Territory for Jammu and Kashmir is being created. The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be with the legislature."
This is not the first time Shahid Afridi has tweeted against India and had a war of words with Gautam Gambhir. The two had also clashed on Twitter in 2018 when Shahid Afridi hit out at India by peddling the Pak ISI's 'human rights violation in Kashmir' narrative. Shahid Afridi had tweeted this:
Gautam Gambhir said this in return:
Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to react, guys? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN”. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is as usual celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!
