Jammu and Kashmir: The dead body of the suspected terrorist involved in the shooting of a truck driver identified Narayan Dutt of Katra has been recovered
The dead body of the suspected terrorist involved in the shooting of a truck driver identified Narayan Dutt of Katra has been recovered. According to sources, the Identity of the terrorist is being established. However, sources reveal that as per another driver, he is the same person who attacked the two drivers. Meanwhile, the security forces had launched a cordon & search operation in Anantnag immediately after the incident on Monday.
Terrorists attacks truck drivers
On Monday evening, two trucks from Haryana and Jammu were targeted in the Bijbihara Anantnag District of Jammu and Kashmir. One Driver, identified as Narayan Dutt was shot. Police said the trucks were passing through Chitragam village when the terrorists opened fire, critically injuring two of their drivers. This incident is the fourth attack on truck drivers transporting apples from the Kashmir region in the last two weeks.
Just 15 hours before the attack on the truck drivers, terrorists also hurled grenades at a crowded bus stop in Sapore District of Jammu and Kashmir. The attack has left nearly 20 people injured who are undergoing treatment at hospitals. After the blast, Security forces cordoned off the area and launched an operation to nab the attackers. Both the attacks come just before a European Union delegation is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir.
Apple traders attacked
A non-local civilian was shot dead by terrorists in broad daylight at around 1:30 PM on October 19. The victim, identified as Sethi Kumar Sagar, was from Chhattisgarh and was working as a labourer in a brick kiln in South Kashmir’s Pulwama. In another incident, on October 14, a civilian was killed by terrorists in Shirmal, Shopian district around 8 PM on Monday. The truck with Rajasthan registration was ferrying apples. The driver Sharif Khan was shot dead and the orchard owner was beaten up at Shirmal.
Terrorists continue to attack Civilian areas
On Sunday, terrorists had also lobbed grenade at a busy market in Srinagar that left seven people injured. The militants hurled a grenade in Hari Singh High Street Market, which is a few hundred metres away from the city centre Lal Chowk, a police official said.
In another terrorist attack, fourteen people were injured when terrorists hurled grenade outside the Deputy Commissioner's office in South Kashmir's Anantnag. Terrorists continue to attack the civilian areas, the Sopore attack is the third attack in a span of two weeks on civilian areas.
