Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju hit a bullseye at the SAI shooting range in Bengaluru during his recent visit and he laid out his mantra for Fit India movement

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has been actively campaigning for the Fit India movement and has initiated several programmes with the latest being the Plog run which aims to combine the Swacch Bharat mission along with the Fit India movement. Being an athlete himself, Kiren Rijiju has robustly contributed to the Fit India movement ever since PM Modi made the announcement and has taken various steps to ensure better facilities and opportunities for sportspersons across India. Kiren Rijiju has been constantly touring various Sports Authority of India (SAI) centres across the country while also meeting the athletes training there to enquire about the facilities and to ensure better facilities in the coming days. When asked about the popularity of the Fit India Movement and how will the Ministry take it to the masses, Rijiju said, "It has already gone to the masses and is popular. It is unbelievable that in only a few days millions and millions of people in India are already taking part in it and they have already decided to conduct it in all formats."

Kiren Rijiju's mantra for Fit India

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju recently paid a visit to the SAI centre at Bengaluru and tried his hands at the shooting range. Taking to Twitter to share pictures of his visit, Kiren Rijiju took to point out that he had a near-perfect score his attempt at shooting. Kiren Rijiju said that concentration, focus and discipline was essential to hit the target apart from fitness. Giving a rallying call for people of India to join the Fit India movement, Kiren Rijiju urged the users to join the movement to be fit and healthy. 'Plog run combines the Swachh Bharat Mission and Fit India Movement'

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports shared how Plog run can be carried out in groups in any region by saying, "You can carry out the Plog run in a smaller group, a large group, a colony, your village, roadsides, parks, etc. Wherever you run, jog or brisk walk, you just have to involve yourself in some cleanliness activities. While discussing the motive behind the idea of Plog run, Kiren Rijiju said, "So this Plog run combines the Swatch Bharat and Fit India." Speaking about how the Plog run has become popular among small organisations as well, Kiren Rijiju shared, "Various cities are sending their own way of conducting it and I am so encouraged to see that even small schools having just 70-80 students are saying they will take part in Plog run. It is very encouraging to see that even small organisation are planning to carry out this." The Minister stated that this initiative being taken by everyone in the nation means that India's future is bright and India will be fit.
