Ladakh Scouts expedition scales Mount Mamostong Kangri in 18 days

A battalion of the Ladakh Scouts regiment of the Indian Army has completed the mountaineering expedition to the peak of Mountain Mamostong Kangri within 18 days. Mount Mamostong Kangri scaled in 18 days The peak is located in the Rimo Muztagh which is a subrange of the Karakoram Ranges. Located at an altitude of 7,516m, Momostong Kangri is the highest peak in the remote Rimo Muztagh, a subrange of the Karakoram ranges. Last week, the Indian Army’s Medical Corps also conducted the ‘AMC Motorcycle Expedition’ through the harsh climatic regions of Ladakh. This was done to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kargil war and to mark the ‘55th AMC Biennial Conference’ of the Army. The expedition was carried out in an effort to honour the heroes of the Indian Army who had lost their lives trying to fight for the country. The expedition was conducted by eight people of the Army who scaled eight of the world's highest passes and rode over 1500 km in Ladakh. In April this year, a team of 10 runners from Army Ordnance Corps undertook an Ultra Marathon run from Jabalpur to Secunderabad covering a distance of 777 Kms.
