He opined he was disturbed by the growing examples in this regard. Naidu also stated that a handful of journalists were bringing a bad name to the entire community. He implored them to recall the Indian value system and ethics.
He said, "Media has an important role to play in a democracy. Instances of fake and paid news are disturbing. Few people are bringing a bad name to the journalistic community. I would like to caution everybody to see that we live by our value system and ethics."

The pervasive menace of fake news now threatens to destroy the credibility of #media.
Media must be prepared to effectively tackle & disprove fake #news by taking control of the narrative
‘Journalism is a mission’
Naidu also highlighted the need to separate opinion from pure news. He observed that the race for ratings should not dictate the style of journalism. Moreover, the Vice President requested the media to showcase positive stories. According to him, it should be a vehicle for changing the status quo.
#Journalism is a mission#TRPs, circulation figures & bottom lines, though important, must not dictate your path#Media must shun tendency to sensationalize & must take care to stick to facts dispassionately & steadfastly & must diligently desist from mixing #news & views #Samaja pic.twitter.com/eudsZAT5eJ
