'Might Have Lost Eyesight': Saurabh Bharadwaj on Raghav Chadha Whereabouts
"He is in the UK; there was a complication in his eyes,"Saurabh Bharadwaj on Raghav Chadha's whereabouts.
New Delhi: Amidst the turmoil within the Aam Aadmi Party, the absence of senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha has raised eyebrows. However, on Tuesday, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj provided an update on Chadha's whereabouts. Speaking to reporters, the Delhi Minister asserted that Chadha is in the UK for treatment and might have lost his eyesight.
"Raghav Chadha has undergone a major eye surgery in the UK. It is said that his condition was serious and there was a possibility of blindness. As soon as he gets better, he will return to India and join us in the election campaigning", Bharadwaj stated at the presser.
Will Raghav Chadha Campaign For AAP?
For the unversed, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has listed Raghav Chadha among its 40 star campaigners, alongside prominent figures like party leader Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain, who are currently imprisoned. The list also includes Sunita Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, too, said Chadha will campaign for the party for the general assembly elections. Chadha, AAP's MP from Punjab, has been missing from the party's election campaigning.
On a question about Chadha joining the election campaign, Mann said, "He will definitely campaign." "There are 11 players (in cricket). Then there is the coaching staff, people who bowl and bat in the nets and four extra players. Everyone is fulfilling their responsibilities," he said while speaking to reporters after his meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar jail.
"We have an organisation and whoever is assigned some duty, they will do it. On June 4, AAP will emerge as a strong political power," Mann added.
What is Retinal Detachment?
Earlier it was reported that Raghav Chadha will undergo a vitrectomy surgery in the United Kingdom to prevent the eye’s retinal detachment. This condition, characterised by the development of small holes in the retina, poses a significant threat to eyesight and demands immediate intervention to prevent irreversible damage.
Retinal detachment if caused is a condition where the delicate tissue at the back of the eye becomes detached from its normal position, leading to a loss of vision. Without prompt treatment, these small holes can rapidly progress, causing severe vision impairment or even blindness.
