'We have made PM Modi proud': Rescuers' first reactions flow in after successful Sikyara rescue op

Initial reactions have started pouring in from the members of NDRF and SDRF as they have successfully completed the rescue operation of 41 labourers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel. Talking to Republic, one of the rescuers said that they lifted the trapped labourers and hugged them tightly as they met for the first time. "We have faced all difficulties. We have made Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India proud," said a member from the rescue team. 

According to officials, all the workers, who were trapped inside the tunnel, were reported to be healthy. 

After the rescue operations were successful, PM Modi took to X and wrote, "The success of the rescue operation of our brothers in Uttarkashi is making everyone emotional. I want to say to the friends who were trapped in the tunnel that your courage and patience is inspiring everyone. I wish you all well and good health."
