MP: 4 national Hockey players killed in car accident in Hoshangabad

In a tragic incident, four national-level hockey players lost their lives on Monday when the car in which they were travelling met with an accident in Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad. The four hockey players lost their lives, and three others suffered injuries, the police said in the matter. As per news agency PTI, the hockey players were travelling from Itarsi to Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh to play in the Dhyan Chandra Trophy when their car met with an accident near Raisalpur village on National Highway 69. Meanwhile, the police are verifying the identities of the deceased and injured in the accident.

MP CM Kamal Nath expresses condolences

Shortly after the incident, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath took to Twitter and extended condolences to the families of the players who died in the accident. He said that the news of the accident of the hockey players is very sad. The MP CM further hoped for speedy recovery of the injured. He added that the concerned authorities have been given instructions to provide all necessary treatment and facilities to the injured and the affected families.

"The news of the accident of a car belonging to the hockey players going for tournament in Hoshangabad near Risalpur village is very sad. My condolences to the families of the players who died in the accident. Praying for quick recovery of the injured. Instructions have been given to provide proper treatment to the injured and to help the affected families in all possible ways," he wrote on his Twitter.
