New Delhi: Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni knocked on the Ranchi court's door and filed a criminal case against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash, officials of Aarka Sports Management over the 2017 cricket academy deal. If reports are to be believed, Diwakar allegedly signed an agreement with Dhoni in 2017 to run a cricket academy globally but failed to adhere to the stipulated terms mentioned in the agreement.
As per the agreed terms, Aarka Sports was obligated to pay a franchise fee and share profits. However, it failed to abide by the terms and despite multiple attempts, the specified terms and conditions in the agreement were consistently overlooked. On August 15th, 2021, MSD (presumably referring to Mahendra Singh Dhoni) revoked the authority letter previously granted to Aarka Sports and issued several legal notices, all of which yielded no resolution.
Dayanand Singh, representing MS Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, has asserted that Aarka Sports engaged in deceptive practices and cheated them, resulting in a financial loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.
Moreover, Dhoni's friend Simant Lohani, also known as Chittu, has filed a complaint alleging that he faced threats and abuse from Mihir Diwakar after they initiated legal action against Aarka Sports.
