President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday condoled the demise of famous folk singer Sharda Sinha and said that her melodious singing will remain immortal. Sinha, who was undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, died on Tuesday night. She was 72.

JPC chairman Jagdambika Pal to visit K'taka on Nov 7 to meet farmers protesting Waqf notices
The chairman of the Joint Committee of Parliament on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, Jagdambika Pal, will visit Karnataka on Thursday to meet farmers protesting against notices, now withdrawn, served to some of them for allegedly encroaching on Waqf properties.
He is also likely to meet others, including a host of Karnataka BJP leaders, who have launched a stir over the issue.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said he is fully committed to ensuring caste census in Telangana and in making the state a model for caste census in the country.

CJI criticises ex-SC judge Krishna Iyer for postulating 'rigid economic theory'
The majority judgement of the Supreme Court on Tuesday on the private properties issue criticised former apex court judge V R Krishna Iyer for "postulating a rigid economic theory" that advocated for greater state control over private resources as an exclusive basis for constitutional governance.
The remarks over the approach of Justice Iyer was made in the majority judgement penned by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud for himself and six other judges of the bench.

'Northern States will have to work together': Delhi environment minister
As the national capital grapples with air pollution, Environment Minister Gopal Rai pitched for a united effort in North Indian states to mitigate pollution, while accusing BJP governments in neighbouring states of doing 'politics' ocer air pollution.
"In Centre, UP, Haryana and Rajasthan, there are BJP governments. They don't know how to do something other than politics. All the governments of the Northern States will have to work together. Another Hyderabad temple vandalised, idols of deities found damaged
Another incident of temple vandalism has been reported in Hyderabad where unidentified miscreants allegedly damaged idols of deities at a temple in Airport Colony, Shamshabad, on Tuesday.
