A fire broke out at the 7th floor at the Peninsula Park building located off the Veera Desai Road in Mumbai's Andheri West on Monday. The fire reportedly broke out at the 22-storey commercial building which is opposite the famous Yash Raj Films studio. While several people are still feared trapped in the building due to fire, a number of people were reported to be were rescued from the 11th floor by the officials. The rescue operation is underway with 4 fire tenders, Quick Attack Response Vehicle, and a number of ambulances present at the spot. The fire is reportedly confined to the 6th floor of the building.

Visuals of the fire have been shared by Viral Bhayani on his social media account. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained by the officials. More details awaited.
Earlier on Sunday, a major fire broke out in a five-storey residential building in Grant Road area, an official said. The fire brigade got a call about the blaze in 'Aditya Arcade' building around 6 am following which its team along with local police and ambulances rushed to the spot. The blaze had engulfed the ground and first floors of the building, the fire brigade official had said.
Furthermore, on October 9, a major fire broke out in Mumbai's Milan subway area. The incident took place near Bombay Tyres in Santacruz West.
