The Mumbai police on Saturday busted an alleged sex racket being operated at a lodge in Navi Mumbai’s Nerul area.
Mumbai: The Mumbai police on Saturday busted an alleged sex racket being operated at a lodge in Navi Mumbai’s Nerul area. During the action, the police arrested the lodge manager and waiter for their alleged involvement in operating a sex racket.
A police official confirmed the incident on Saturday. Anti-Human Trafficking Cell senior inspector Prithviraj Ghorpade said that the lodge was raided on Friday night on a tip-off, which was confirmed through a decoy operation.
"Seven women hailing from West Bengal and Assam states as well as Bangladesh were rescued. Lodge manager Avtarsingh Mistry, and waiter Kishore Yadav were arrested, while its owner Jay Ramesh Sharma WAS booked under BNS and Immoral Traffic Prevention Act," he added.
Further legal action is being taken into the matter.
