Sports fans had a nerve-wracking Sunday with the Wimbledon-winner Novak Djokovic having his task stretched by tennis legend Roger Federer and the Cricket World Cup Final stretching to a super over-tie and a controversial result crowning hosts England champions finally. But Mumbai police's Twitter handle, at its creative best, seems to have found gems in these intense sports moments on Monday.

Expressing its dedication to the 'maximum city', Mumbai police has tweeted  a picture of 2019 Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic stretching to his limit in an attempt to return opponent  Roger Federer's volley, captioning 'Mumbai, we'll always be your safety net!'

The law enforcement department also took inspiration from the Cricket World Cup (CWC)'s nail-biting finish where 100 overs were not enough to crown the world champion to tweet 'Playing 100 overs may not be enough to decide a match, but dialing 100 may be enough to find our catch!'

World Cup: Here's Why England Won The World Cup Even Though New Zealand Tied Their Super Over Total

Netizens love the humour but cry at the reality

Netizens have loved the Mumbai Police's twitter game while lamenting at the results:

Novak Djokovic Saves Match Points To Claim Fifth Wimbledon Title In Record-breaking Final

World Cup and Wimbledon results:

England beat New Zealand in a nail-biting last-ball thriller to clinch their maiden World Cup title at Lord's Cricket Grounds in London on July 14 after winning the Super Over tie due to scoring more boundaries than New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic saved two match points to clinch a fifth Wimbledon title and 16th major on Sunday against Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer in Wimbledon's longest final ever.
