Mumbai: Traffic Diversion in Place for Team India's Victory Parade Today, These Roads to Be Closed
The traffic movements are likely to be affected from NCPA to Wankhede stadium from 3pm to 9pm on July 4.
Mumbai: Traffic is likely to get affected in the city on Thursday in view of the road show of the T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team in the evening, the Mumbai Traffic police said.
The traffic movements are likely to be affected from NCPA to Wankhede stadium from 3pm to 9pm on July 4. Police have made elaborate security arrangements and planned traffic diversions in the city to facilitate smooth flow of the victory rally of the Men in Blue.
As per the traffic police update, commuters can take alternate route via Churchgate, M.K. road, Metro Junction to Princess Street flyover towards north bound journey.
The South bound traffic towards Wankhede Stadium is also likely to be congested.
List of roads to be closed today:
- N S Road (North Bound):
The N S Road (North Bound) will remain out of bounds for all vehicles from NCPA to Meghdoot Bridge (Princess Street Bridge).
Alternate route: Commuters can take Ramnath Poddar Chowk (Godrej Junction), take a right turn from Maharshi Karve Road, Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction). From Marine Lines travel to Charni Road and then to Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House).
- N S Road (South Bound):
On N S Road (South Bound), the section from Meghdoot Bridge (Princess Street Bridge) to NCPA/ Hutatma Rajguru Chowk (Mantralaya Junction) will be closed for vehicular traffic.
Alternate route: Motorists can take a left turn from Kemps Corner Bridge and move ahead to their desired destination at Nana chowk.
- Veer Nariman Road (North Bound)
The north bound Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) to Kilachand chowk (Sunder Mahal Junction) will also be closed all traffic.
Alternate route: Motorists can proceed via Maharshi Karve Road to Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) to Marine Lines-Charni Road and then to Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House Junction).
- Dinshaw Vacha Road:
Dinshaw Vacha Road’s north bound route from WIAA Chowk to Ratanlal Babuna Chowk (Marine plaza Junction) will remain out of bounds for all vehicles.
Alternate Route: Proceed along Maharshi Karve road to Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) to Marine Lines, Charni Road and Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House Junction).
- Madam Cama Road:
The North bound stretch of Madam Cama Road will remain closed for all vehicles from Hutatma Rajguru Chowk (Mantralaya Junction) to Venutai chavan chowk (Air India Junction).
Alternate Route: Take Maharshi karve road to Ramnath Poddar Chowk (Godrej Junction) to Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) to Marine Lines-Charni Road and then to Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House Junction).
- Barrister Rajni Patel Marg:
The north bound stretch of this road from Sakhar bhavan junction to NS Road will be closed for all vehicles.
Alternate Route: From Hotel Trident’s exit gate take a right turn to Sakhar Bhavan junction. Then go to Barrister Rajni Patel Marg and Usha Mehta chowk-Free Press circle.
- Vinay K Shah Marg:
The north bound stretch of the road extending from Jamanalal Bajaj Marg to Murali Deora Chowk and N S Road will be closed for traffic.
Alternate Route: Motorists can take Ramnath Goenka Marg to Sakhar bhavan junction and then take a right turn to Barrister Rajni Patel Marg and proceed to Free Press circle.
Men in Blue Return Home
The victorious team will take part in an open bus road show followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in South Mumbai after landing here. Team India arrived in the national capital on Thursday morning. They received a rousing welcome by a huge gathering a fans outside the Delhi airport.
Star India batter Virat Kohli waved at the crowd who had gathered to welcome the Team India at the Indira Gandhi International Airport since early morning. Notably, World Champions returned home on Thursday after taking a long 16-hour flight from Barbados after being stuck there for almost a week due to Hurricane Beryl. Ever since the news of the team’s arrival was out in the public, fans thronged to the airport to welcome team India for their successful T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.
The Indian Cricket reached ITC Maurya after leaving Delhi airport. The team is set to meet PM Modi today after their World cup win.
