Muslim Woman Beaten, Poured Hot ‘Dal’ And Given Triple Talaq In Ayodhya For Praising CM Yogi

Ayodhya: A Muslim woman in Ayodhya was allegedly beaten up badly, was poured hot ‘dal’ and was given ‘triple talaq’ by her husband after she praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for all the development works being done in Ayodhya Dham. The victim alleged that her husband and her in-laws attempted to kill her by choking her throat before pouring hot dal. During the incident, the victim sustained serious burn injuries.

Shockingly, the victim claimed that the Uttar Pradesh police didn’t cooperate with her over her complaint as a result she kept on urging the police in Ayodhya and Bahraich (victim’s parental address), but her complaint was heard nowhere. The police reportedly even didn’t file an FIR on her complaint.

Police Didn't Pay Attention On Complaint, Claims Victim

The victim, identified as Maryam, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich, was married to Arshad, a resident of Ayodhya, on December 13, 2023. It was after the marriage that one day Maryam, went out with her husband Arshad to take a tour of Ayodhya Dham. She was mesmerised by the development work and impressed with the beauty of Ayodhya, especially ‘Ram Ki Paidi’, Kanak Bhawan and the ghats of the Saryu river.

While returning home, Maryam expressed her thoughts on the development work in Ayodhya and praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi before her husband. However, the praising words for PM Modi and CM Yogi, didn’t go well with Maryam’s husband Arshad as he threatened her with dire consequences at home.

As per the complaint letter, Maryam alleged that Arshad, who was miffed with praise for CM Yogi, beat up his wife badly. He even choked her throat with the intention to kill her. Not only this, her in-laws joined her husband in the process and poured hot dal on her as she was lying on the floor in a semi-conscious condition after getting thrashed.

Arshad also allegedly stated that he doesn't care about the chief minister and the prime minister and about the law saying that he has given ‘talaq, talaq, talaq’ to her and that he has no relation with Maryam. The accused husband even abused and made derogatory remarks against CM Yogi and PM Modi.

She was also kicked out of the house and asked to return to her parents. Following the entire episode, Maryam and her family went to the police in Bahraich and Ayodhya, but the police allegedly didn’t pay attention to her complaint.

Disappointed with Uttar Pradesh’s police response, Maryam's father Mohammad Sharif lodged a complaint regarding the incident on the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's portal, pleading for the safety and justice to her daughter.
