Mysuru-Darbhanga Express Accident: Over 15 Trains Cancelled, Several Diverted | Check Full List

Chennai: Over 15 trains have been cancelled, and many others have been diverted for Saturday, October 12, after the Mysuru-Darbhanga Express collided with a stationary goods train at Kavarapettai in Tamil Nadu, injuring 19 people. The Southern Railway, in a tweet on X, released a list of trains cancelled and diverted. On Friday, in a tragic incident that mirrors the Balasore train disaster, the Mysuru-Darbhanga Express collided with the stationary goods train reportedly due to a loop line change. The mishap occurred late at night, raising questions about safety measures for such operations. Initial reports suggest that signal mismanagement led to the train being diverted onto the loop line, resulting in the collision. In the accident, 12 coaches derailed for the unversed; however, there were no casualties. A medical relief van and a rescue team had departed from Chennai Central.
