Nirmala Sitharaman Dons Magenta And Cream Saree For Budget 2024 | WATCH
Sitharaman kept her look simple for her seventh budget presentation by accessorising her look with a simple gold pendant, bangles and a bindi
New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday, July 23, was spotted wearing a magenta and cream saree, a little different from her previous look where she was spotted wearing a blue saree with leaf prints.
Sitharaman kept her look simple for her seventh budget presentation by accessorising her look with a simple gold pendant, bangles and a bindi in her first Union budget after the NDA came to power for the third consecutive term.
The finance minister's love for 'handloom sarees ' has been evident through her encouragement toward artisans involved in such intricate work, which she chooses to support in the parliament.
In February, as Sitharman presented her sixth budget in a row, she donned a cream and blue tussar saree with a broad border with intricate floral patterns. She paired it with a matching blouse with a thin blue border. The Finance Minister opted for a traditional sari on the Budget 2024 day, which will be presented today at 11 am in the new Parliament.
In 2023, the Finance Minister wore a traditional red saree with a temple border, reflecting her appreciation for ‘cultural heritage.’
Meanwhile, in 2022, she wore a Bomkai saree from Odisha. The rusty brown tone of the saree is veiled to represent resilience, security and dependability.
