Noida police nab firm director accused of cheating builder for over Rs 2 crore
The accused has been identified as Shravan Kumar Chaudhari (52), who allegedly cheated the builder of Rs 2.33 crore on the pretext of selling a property.

The Noida police have arrested the director of a construction firm accused of defrauding a builder, of over Rs 2 crore from the Delhi airport. Based on specific input, the police team laid a trap at the airport and as soon as the accused landed in Delhi from the United Kingdom (UK), the team nabbed him.
The accused has been identified as Shravan Kumar Chaudhari (52), who allegedly cheated the builder of Rs 2.33 crore on the pretext of selling a property. The accused had reportedly gone to London about 10 days ago. The accused who is a Director of Noida-based construction company Gujara Construction Private Limited, had planned a conspiracy to extort Rs 2,33,09,123 from the Noida-based builder. He allegedly first extorted money and then threatened the victim when asked to return the money.
The team investigating the case was formed by Noida DM Harish Chander while working on the cases of arresting the accused who have been wanted accused in the Noida district. Seven Noida police officials led by Additional DCP Shakti Awasthi unfolded the case by arresting the accused at 3 pm on 24th October from the IGI Airport.

Confirming the arrest of the accused, Additional DCP (Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said that Chaudhary, who resides at Delhi’s Patparganj, is the director of Gujara Construction Private Limited. An FIR was registered at Haja police station in Noida on July 31 against the accused on the state of victim builder, who had alleged that Chaudhary cheated him of Rs 2.33 crore.
The police official also added that while the manner in which the accused conducted the forgery was well-planned, the accused has not been a repeat offender in commission of similar crimes.
According to the police, a lookout circular was also issued against the accused. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, on specific information, the Noida police arrested him from the Delhi airport after his arrival from the UK.
The accused was charged under Section 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further, Section 467, 468 and 471 (all related to forgery of documents) of the IPC were also added to the case.
Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
