November 25 has been declared as "no non-veg day" across Uttar Pradesh

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has designated November 25 as a "No Non-Veg Day". The decision is aimed at honouring the birth anniversary of spiritual leader Sadhu TL Vaswani and entails the closure of all slaughterhouses and meat shops across the state. 

“All slaughterhouses and meat shops are to remain closed on the day,” reads a letter issued by Dharmendra Pratap Singh, Special secretary in U.P. government, addressed to all the District Magistrate (DM), Divisional Commissioners, Municipal Commissioners, among other senior state officials. 

To know more U.P. Government also pressing ban on Halal-certified products, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) conducted raids at several places to examined food items. On November 22, an FSDA team conducted a raid on fast food giant McDonald's outlet in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow as part of the state government's latest crackdown on inauthentic Halal-certified products. 

During the raid, the FSDA officials examined several food items and found Halal-certified products, specifically packaged wraps.
