Parliament attack plot: An Instagram page, WhatsApp groups and exploiting Bhagat Singh’s name
As per latest updates, a WhatsApp group was created in the name of Bhagat Singh Fan Club, which was later used to hatch the Parliament attack plot
New Delhi: As more shocking details continue to emerge in connection with the December 13 Parliament terror attack involving the perpetrators, it has now come to the fore how the conspirators made use of social media to materialise their plot. As per latest details, a social media handle on Instagram in the name of DESHBHAKT88 was used to post an action call to get people onboard.
The profile was activated in October 2021 and a post was put out in the name of Bhagat Singh to connect with others.
Both Lalit Jha, the alleged mastermind of the Parliament attack, and Mahesh Kumawat commented on the post, suggesting that they joined a group later.
A WhatsApp group was created in the name of Bhagat Singh Fan Club, including those who showed interest and joined the group.
The WhatsApp group was reportedly used to hatch the Parliament attack plan.
Sources in the police suggest the initial plan was to get more than five people in the Parliament attack.
Initial investigation indicates that Sagar from Lucknow and Manoranjan from Mysuru, who eventually breached the Parliament security on December 13 and jumped into the area where MPs were seated and released coloured gas, creating commotion inside the House, were the first few people involved in creating the group.
Police are still investigating the case to unearth the owner/creator of the Instagram page to zero in on the mastermind who got people together to join the group.
