Lok Sabha adjourned for the day as the number of MPs present in the House was fewer than the minimum stipulated in the rules. 

Proceedings of Rajya Sabha adjourned till tomorrow, i.e., February 9. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reply in Rajya Sabha to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address will be at 2 pm tomorrow, announces Chairman of Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar.

General Secretary of the party, Jairam Ramesh shared a clip, which shows SP's Jaya Bachchan in the Upper House and PM Modi in the Lower House of the Parliament.  He wrote, "At 5:15pm today. One of India's most famous actress on the right speaking in Rajya Sabha. India's most famous actor on the left speaking in the Lok Sabha." 

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding action against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for "breach of privilege" after he levelled allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BSP's Shyam Singh Yadav said, "PM Modi repeatedly referred to the President as tribal President. The BJP govt does everything for elections. If tomorrow, we have a Muslim President, will you refer to him/her as Muslim President? A Prime Minister should be courteous and respectful." 

MP Binoy Viswam reacting to the PM's speech said, "Modi's efficiency to close eyes to reality is really commendable. India has become a land of scams. The Adani scam is known to the whole of the world but is supported by the government."

After the conclusion of PM Modi's speech in the Parliament, Rahul Gandhi reacted, saying, "He should have said yes to the investigation against Adani Group. It just shows that he is trying to protect him (Gautam Adani)"

"India has to be moved towards modernity, we are short on time and cannot afford to lose more. Infrastructure has to be boosted further, we have already started making efforts," said PM Modi, talking about road and railway infrastructure.

'Those who have been to Jammu & Kashmir recently must have seen how freely one can go to the valley today,' said PM Modi in another veiled attack on Rahul Gandhi and Congress Bharat Jodo Yatra. 

PM Modi recollects the time when he took it upon himself to hoist the tricolor at Lal Chowk and was welcomed with posters from terrorists. The Prime Minister said, "I had told the terrorists then too that I will reach the Lal Chowk without bulletproof on, on 26th and hoist the national flag."

"India is the biggest manufacturer of helicopters in Asia today. Crores and crores worth of order is with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)," said PM Modi, indirectly referring to the Rafale controversy. 

Several Opposition MPs walk out of Lok Sabha as PM Modi replies to Motion of Thanks on President's address, in Lok Sabha.

PM Modi said, "If we would have not done anything to bring about changes, nobody would have questioned me, nobody would have asked, 'Modi Ji why did not you do this, why did not you do that?' because the country was brought to that situation." 

PM Modi said, "9 crore got free LPG connection, 11 crore got free toilets. 8 crore people have got 'Nal Se Jal' and Ayushman Bharat Yojana has helped over 2 crore families. Modi proved useful during difficult times. Your abuses and your allegations have to go through the people of the country." 

PM Modi said, "They think that abusing Modi will help them. They are still under this illusion even after 22 years. The trust on Modi does not arise from the headlines of the newspapers."

PM Modi took a Harvard jibe at Congress. The Prime Minister said, "Yesterday too, Harvard University's study was talked about. In the past, Harvard had come out with a very important study. 'The rise and decline of India's congress party' is also their study. World's biggest universities will hold a study on the destruction of the Congress party."

PM Modi said, "In Parliament, a lot has been talked about the Central agencies...They raised questions on National forces, questioned their valour...Compulsive criticism has taken over constructive criticism. Many people from the Opposition are joining the Congress in this."

PM Modi claimed that the decade before 2014 was known as the 'lost decade' and said, "India was discussed for its blackout days earlier during UPA. There was no will to hit back at terrorists. This emboldened the terrorists."

PM Modi said, "In the ten years, from Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari, there was just violence and violence. Every citizen lived in fear."

Coming back to the 'disappointed' lot, the Prime Minister said, "One reason is the continuous rejection by the people. Other is facts. Before 2014,  India's economy was at an all-time low, inflation was in double digits."

PM Modi said, "The President in her address has talked about a gamut of issues. Today, in every state, city, and region there is desire. India has become a country full of desires." 

PM Modi highlighted, "In the last 9 years, India has seen the launch of 90000 startups. In terms of start-ups, India ranks number 3. India's youth has become the symbol of ability."

PM Modi gives a strong message in his address, says 'This is not the government that brings about reforms out of compulsion, but one that brings about reforms out of conviction.' 

"Proud moment of India for its 140 cr people. However, now I feel, earlier I did not feel so, that there are some people who are sad even about India's progress," said PM Modi, continuing his attack on the opposition, after speeches of Rahul Gandhi, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Asaduddin Owaisi among others. 

PM Modi talks about COVID-19, the Russia-Ukraine war India faced, saying, "There's no life without challenges, but what is stronger, and bigger than the challenges is the trust of the 140 crore people. In spite of the challenges, India is the 5th largest economy of the world "

PM Modi used a couplet by Indian Urdu poet Jigar Moradabadi to attack Rahul Gandh. He said, "Ye keh keh ke hum dil ko behla rahe hain, woh ab chal chuke hain, woh ab aa rahe hain":

Taking a veiled dig at Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "From the speech, it becomes clear what is the intelligence of a person, what is a mindset of a person, what is the aim of a person."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the motion of thanks on the President's Address to Parliament. " In the Adivasi community, there is a sense of pride today, this country and this House is grateful to President Drouapdi Murmu," said PM Modi. 

As the PM began his speech in the Parliament, the opposition tried blocking him. Speaker Om Birla had to intervene. 

On being interjected by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for making claims that China has occupied India's land, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "You will abuse Rahul Gandhi, call him Pakistan's broker but that is not a 'sensitive issue'. When we raise issues of national importance, you will call it 'sensitive'. This is double standards." 

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in his address made it clear on behalf of the Congress, "We don't have any personal grudges with Adani, we don't have any personal grudges with Ambani...Even we want the development of India."

Dilip Saikia, MP from the BJP, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and assured him that the 1.3 Billion people of India are with him. "Under you, the country will become a superpower," he said. 

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury claimed that earlier the President's caste or religion was not discussed. The Congress leader claimed, "But for the first time, it is being conveyed across the country that BJP has made an Adivasi President. It has been made a political issue..."

Addressing the Lok Sabha, MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "What Rahul Gandhi said in the Parliament yesterday is being discussed in the whole of India...You can laugh about it, but can't deny it."

"Did you not question our forces? Your charges affect forces' morale": Union Minister Kiren Rijiju lambasts Vadra Congress in the Lok Sabha.

Reacting over TMC MP Mahua Moitra's offensive language in LS, BJP MP Hema Malini said, "They should control their tongue and not get over-excited and emotional. Each and every member of Parliament is a respectable person."

Republic confronted TMC MP Mahua Moitra over her offensive remark but she dodged the questions.

Addressing the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "Indians have faith in PM Modi and the whole government... There was no credible government in this country up to 2014. But today society has faith in Modi govt & Democracy."

On Wednesday, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge took a dig at PM Modi and called him "Mauni Baba" while questioning his silence on the Adani issue.

Reacting on Kharge's remark, RS Speaker Jagdeep Dhankar said, "It does not suit your stature. Frankly speaking, there are certain positions for which we have to have great regard. It was in this house on Dec 8, I said the leader of the house, LoP, and two former PMs will speak, I will look to the rule book later. Why? These positions have an August stand... Similarly, You cannot treat institutions with that kind of observation. You are a senior member."

DMK MP NR Elango made a controversial statement in Rajya Sabha saying, "The presidential address says about a 'Bharat which has no poverty and where the middle-class is also prosperous'. Everywhere they say Bharat when they are talking about the future. The discriminate use of the term Bharat vis-a-vis India stirs a speculation in the minds of the general public that a subtle message is envisaged by the Union to proclaim India in future as Bharat which will prove to be fatal for the existence of the unity of this great nation - India."

Business conglomerate GVK Group on Wednesday categorically said there was no "pressure" from anyone to sell its stake in Mumbai airport as alleged by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

"As far as GVK is concerned there was no pressure on GVK either from the Adani Group or from any agencies. We sold the airport due to our own commercial interest," GV Sanjay Reddy, Vice Chairman GVK.

The company's comments came a day after Gandhi alleged in Lok Sabha that "Mumbai airport, was taken away from GVK using agencies such as the CBI and the ED, and was given to Adani by the Government of India".

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi addresses Lok Sabha, questions government over minority rights.

Addressing the Lok Sabha, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "The country is developing under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. You go to JNU, you go to the Tukde-Tukde gang. People are not giving you votes, that's why you are losing... We are in power because of the blessing of the people."

According to PMO, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address at around 3:30 PM in the Lok Sabha today.

BJP MP and former Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad led the saffron party charge in Lok Sabha against Rahul Gandhi's allegations in Adani row saying, "Rahul Gandhi has misled the House."

PM Narendra Modi wore a unique blue jacket in Parliament made from recycled plastic bottles gifted by Indian Oil Corp during India Energy Week in Bengaluru.

Rajya Sabha chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar asked the parliamentarians present in the House to maintain decorum amid the Opposition sloganeering and ruckus in Rajya Sabha.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said, "have moved privilege motion against Rahul Gandhi. As per rules, In Parliament, you can’t put allegations on a person who is not present in the session to defend himself & also have to give notice & seek permission from the speaker."

Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw while addressing the Lok Sabha, batted for a common Central act to regulate online gaming and gambling in the country.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra stoked a controversy on Tuesday when she used an abusive and unparliamentary word during the 'Motion of Thanks' on the president's address. According to her latest statement, she has chosen to remain defiant. 

After the ruling party members interjected to object to her unparliamentary word, she said, "I'm surprised BJP is teaching us parliamentary etiquette. That representative from Delhi heckled me...I'll call an apple an apple, not an orange...if they'll take me to the privileges committee, I'll put my side of the story." This comes after a major backlash by the BJP MPs over her abusive remarks on the parliament's floor.

Addressing the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that he is disappointed by the President's speech. 

As Congress' Rahul Gandhi went on an allegation spree against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament, he was shut down by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday, February 7. Intejecting the Gandhi scion during his speech in Lok Sabha, Rijiju warned him against making 'wild allegations' and demanded that he furnish proof of his claims. 

"I just want to say this one thing, Rahul Ji, you have become a senior MP now, we as your fellow members of this Parliament, expect you to talk with utmost seriousness. Outside the House, whatever speeches you give, we can't stop them. But here, whatever you say, should be said with seriousness. This is the tradition," Rijiju said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the motion of thanks on President Droupadi Murmu's address, in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, February 8 8 amid the logjam in the parliament over the Adani-Hindenburg row.

Rahul Gandhi, during his parliamentary address in the Budget Session on Tuesday, brought up issues surrounding the Adani Group and asked how Gautam Adani's companies and his net worth grew so fast. "People used to tell me that Adani succeeds in whichever business he enters. The youngsters asked me 'what is going on? We also want to learn. Modi Ji said build startups, we also want to be like Adani Ji", Rahul Gandhi said. 

The Congress MP said that how Adani gets success in every business is his first question. "They (youngsters) also asked me how did Adani's net worth jump from $8 billion to $140 billion from 2014 to 2022? There's a list of the richest people. He was in the 609th position in 2014.
