Patna witnessed a heavy downpour which threw normal life out of gear in several parts. Rainwater gushed into houses, offices and local shops disrupting daily life. Localities like Dak Bungalow, Rajendra Nagar, and Exhibition Road have severely affected and the residences of Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar and other senior politicians were also submerged.

Several areas were water-logged in the city following the heavy rainfall; the city has received almost 18.5 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. People were even seen using a boat to commute.
Schools and colleges have been ordered shut in several districts as the ordeal for the people are still not over. As per the forecast, heavy rains are likely to continue over the state till Sunday. Bihar has received over 800 mm rainfall till date. The local authorities have alerted at least 13 districts in North Bihar for the next three days as heavy to extremely heavy rains are likely to continue.

Republic TV spoke to the senior IAS officer Pratyaya Amrit who said that if such an emergency situation arises where people need to be rescued, the administration is ready to take up appropriate steps to conduct the mission. Nitish Kumar, the CM of Bihar had earlier expressed concern on the IAS officer's report on the situation in North Bihar. The report stated that Bihar is expected to receive 300mm of rain in the next three days. Kumar had earlier issued instructions for the evacuation of people nestled in the villages where water has entered through the overflowing rivers flooding the entire space.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a report stating that the rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue in Bihar this week. It had earlier issued an orange alert for Bihar till Saturday morning. However, thunderstorm and lightning are to continue over Bihar till Wednesday.
