Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar took a dig at Shiv Sena on Saturday for its poll scheme of providing meals at Rs.10. Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly polls, the Sena had announced the scheme of proving the poor with a full meal for Rs.10. The NCP chief mocked and questioned Shiv Sena. The NCP leader questioned Shiv-Sena's promise and asked if people want them to run a government or cook meals.
"And now this Rs 10 meal scheme. Are people asking you to run the state or to cook meals?" Pawar asked.
The NCP Chief also mocked and reminded the Shiv-Sena about their poll promise in the 90's poll scheme of providing food at subsidised rates.
'Why there is a need for nine rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi?'
The NCP leader also hit out at statements made by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. In a rally, the chief minister said that there is no 'fight' in this election. "If there is no strong opponent in these polls, why there is a need for nine rallies of prime minister Narendra Modi, twenty rallies of home minister Amit Shah?" They will find out on October 24 when `gulal' (of victory) will be applied to our candidate," Pawar added.
'BJP raising emotional issues'
Earlier speaking to the media at a rally, attacking the BJP, Sharad Pawar said the BJP raises emotive issues and has no solutions to burning problems in Maharashtra like farmer suicide and drought. He also targeted the BJP-led NDA government, he said central agencies like the ED and CBI are being used to harass political opponents.
" BJP has no solutions to burning problems in the state like farmer suicides and drought. Therefore, it is raising emotional issues like Article 370 and Ram Mandir in the election," he said.
