Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh congratulated Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi minutes after his address at the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Friday. The Defence Minister said that the Prime Minister's speech clearly portrayed India's intent at the global stage, where several world leaders were present.

Singh tweeted saying that PM Modi's appeal to the world leaders at the UNGA to unite to fight against terrorism was the most important message. He tweeted:

The Defence Minister also stated that PM Modi spoke like a true statesman and said that PM Modi also expressed India's resolve to fight against issues like global warming.
Modiji also underlined India’s recent achievements in his speech like health cover for 50 crore Indians and mentioned the largest financial inclusion drive ever.

PM Modi's address at the UNGA
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful and compelling address at the UNGA on Friday. In his address, PM Modi spoke about the scale of development by India as a developing nation and also highlighted India's upcoming campaigns for development. He spoke India's contribution to the UN Peacekeeping Mission and also called the world together to unite against terrorism. PM Modi also spoke about India's mission to eradicate TB by 2025, make the country free of single-use plastic and also achieve the target of 450 GW of renewable energy.
