PM Modi calls on VP Naidu, two leaders exchange Diwali greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, October 27, called on Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu at his residence in New Delhi to exchange Diwali greetings.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, October 27, called on the Vice President, Venkaiah Naidu at his residence in New Delhi to exchange Diwali greetings. According to reports, PM Modi spent time with the Vice President's family. Further, during his visit, Naidu informed PM Modi about his recent visit to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit that was held in Baku, Azerbaijan on Friday, October 25.

About NAM Summit

The 18th summit of NAM (Non-Aligned Movement) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan to bring together leaders from different countries. According to reports, the summit was inaugurated by Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev, who called for the strengthening cooperation among the 120 member nations. The 18th session of the NAM summit was attended by world leaders such as Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic, Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Pakistani President Arif Alvi, Indian Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Mustafa al-Sarraj, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Djibouti President Ismail Omar, Ghanaian President Nana Akufo- Addo alongside Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohammed.

PM Modi calls on President Ram Nath Kovind

Apart from the Vice President, PM Modi also called on the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind and exchanged Diwali greetings with him on Sunday.

PM Modi celebrated Diwali with Jawans

Keeping up with his tradition of celebrating Diwali with the Indian soldiers, PM Modi visited the forward areas of Rajouri along the LoC to celebrate it with security forces. While interacting with soldiers, PM Modi thanked them on behalf of the people of India for their 'monumental service'. The areas PM Modi visited are the same areas where Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire for the last few days.
