PM Modi gives 'perform, reform, transform' message to India on 77th Independence Day

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a 'perform, reform, transform' message.

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, August 15, asserted that India emerged as a confident nation which is known as the voice of the Global South and a critical part of the global supply chains. The approach of 'reform, perform and transform' is changing the country, the prime minister added. 

“As the nation formed a new government in 2019, PM Modi found the courage to reform. Today, the nation speaks for perform, reform and transform," the PM said on 77th Independence Day, adding that India will not stop now from touching new heights.  

While setting the target of a developed nation by 2047, he said, "A developed India in 2047 is not just a dream, but the resolution of 140 crore Indians. The biggest strength (of a developed nation) is the national character. An important catalytic agent for all the countries which have developed has been their national character." 

He guaranteed that India will be among the top 3 economies in the next five years. â€œIt is Modi’s guarantee that India will be among the top three economies in the world in the next 5 years," said PM Modi adding that India was in the 10th position in 2014. 

PM Modi's appeal to fight three evils 

PM Modi emphasised corruption, dynasty and appeasement were the three evils that the country was facing and said, "The demon of corruption that had the country in its clutches - we stopped leakages and created a strong economy." He added that the need of the hour was to fight the three evils so that the country can progress in its journey.

"I firmly believe that when the country will celebrate 100 years of freedom in 2047, the country would be a developed India. I say this on the basis of the capability of my country and available resources. But the need of the hour is to fight three evils -- corruption, dynasty and appeasement," PM Modi said in his address to the nation on 77th Independence Day,
