PM Modi lauds film fraternity's contribution towards Mahatma Gandhi

Addressing a gathering of top artistes of the film fraternity at his residence in the national capital on October 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded their contribution in propagating the message of Mahatma Gandhi. He was referring to the short video ‘#ChangeWithin’ produced by Rajkumar Hirani on Gandhi’s key principles. Revealing that it was his idea to do something on the Mahatma’s 150th birth anniversary, the PM mentioned that Hirani took up the responsibility of bringing together all the artistes for this purpose. Furthermore, he opined that the film industry had an important role to play in shaping human beings. But I thought something should be done related to Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. Raju took up the responsibility. He gathered all of you and you gave him the time. When the people of the country and the world will experience Gandhi through this film, your contribution is very big, which you may not be aware of.” He added, “We do not want to create robots, we want to create human beings.
