PM Modi: Atal Bihari Vajpayee's dedication will be an inspiration even in his immortal age
Modi said that Vajpayee worked to speed up the country's development all his life.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with President Droupadi Murmu, her predecessor Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and other ministers on Monday, December 25, paid floral tributes to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 99th birth anniversary.
Modi said that Vajpayee worked to speed up the country's development all his life. On X, he shared a post that Vajpayee's dedication and spirit of service to the country will be a source of inspiration during the "Amrit Kaal" -- the period until the centenary of India's Independence in 2047.
His post read, “On behalf of all the family members of the country, I pay my deepest respects to former Prime Minister respected Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his birth anniversary. He remained engaged in accelerating nation building throughout his life. His dedication and service towards Mother India will remain a source of inspiration even in his immortal age.”
Vajpayee was a great orator who served three terms as the Indian prime minister. His first term was 13 days in 1996, then 13 months from 1998 to 1999 and a full term from 1999 to 2004. He was a member of the Parliament for five decades, having been elected 10 times to the Lok Sabha and twice to the Rajya Sabha.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi in another post paid tributes to noted freedom fighter and educationist Madan Mohan Malaviya on his birth anniversary.
The prime minister said that Malaviya's incomparable personality and work will inspire every generation of this country.
