PM Modi responds to Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu's Independence Day wish, friendship continues

India celebrated its 73rd Independence Day on Thursday. Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu had extended his wishes through Twitter. In response to his Israeli counterpart's kind gesture, PM Modi has thanked him.

India celebrated its 73rd Independence Day on Thursday. Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu had extended his wishes through Twitter. In response to his Israeli counterpart's kind gesture, PM Modi has thanked him. 

Following Netanyahu's wishes, Prime Minister Modi reacted and thanked him for the wishes. The Prime Minister addressed Netanyahu by his nickname 'Bibi' and here's what he wrote:

Prime Minister Modi also mentioned the strong ties between India and Israel and expressed his desire for an even closer friendship in the years to come. The reply comes after the Israel Prime Minister took to Twitter in a bid to extend his wishes. In addition, he had also uploaded a montage which had several clips of both the leaders during their time together in the different visits. It showcases several instances where Netanyahu and Modi have had interactions. 

"To my friend Prime Minister Modi and people of India, I just want to say Happy Independence Day. The relations between India and Israel are like never before, It is not merely cooperation, it is also a genuine friendship", said PM Benjamin Netanyahu:

Earlier, Netanyahu had extended friendship day wishes to PM Modi on August 4. An official page of Israeli embassy in India posted a video of Prime Minister Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu with the tune of the famous Hindi friendship song 'ye Dosti Hum Nahi todenge'. The post said that Israel hopes that the friendship and partnership of the countries continue to flourish.

Netanyahu is scheduled to visit India for a day on September 9 and meet his counterpart Narendra Modi, eight days before he faces re-election. The Likud party leader had created history on July 20 by surpassing Israel's first premier David Ben-Gurion record as the longest-serving PM. He had visited India in January 2018, whereas PM Modi had gone to Tel Aviv in 2017, becoming the first Indian prime minister to tour the Jewish state. Netanyahu was the first world leader to congratulate Modi for scripting an "impressive victory" in the 2019 General Elections and had vowed to strengthen their "great friendship" as well as bilateral ties with India. Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's close ties with his Indian counterpart PM Narendra Modi, an election advertisement banner featuring the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi standing with Netanyahu was spotted in Israel.
