PM Modi to hold 10 bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Japan. Details here

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding as many as 10 bilateral meetings on the sidelines of two-day G-20 Summit in Japan's Osaka on June 28 and 29. He will be holding meetings with France, Japan, Indonesia, US and Turkey, among other countries. India, Russia and China are also set to hold a trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit. 

During the two-day summit, there will also be a meeting with leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China & South Africa (BRICS) and Russia-India-China (RIC).

Former Union minister Suresh Prabhu would be India's Sherpa at the meet, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar announced on Friday. 

"For the 6th time, PM Narendra Modi will be participating in the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan from June 27 to 29. Apart from participating at the Summit itself. PM will also have bilateral meetings. He will also participate in a few plurilateral meetings," Raveesh Kumar had said announcing PM Modi's participation in the summit.

In 2018 G20 Summit, PM Modi had held several bilateral engagements, including meetings with Saudi Crown prince Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping German Chancellor Angela and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Formally known as "Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy", G-20 summit began in 1999.

Besides India, other participants are European Union, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Republic of South Africa, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States of America.

During the 2018 G20 Summit, PM Modi had announced that India will play host to the Summit in 2022 when the country will celebrate 75th anniversary of independence.
