PM Narendra Modi bats for drug-free society on Veer Bal Diwas

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, December 26, attended an event at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital on 'Veer Bal Diwas' to commemorate the martyrdom of two sons of Guru Gobind Singh.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi said that the sacrifices made by them are not only being remembered in India but are also being regarded globally by the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

Veer Bal Diwas is a symbol of going to any extent for the protection of  Bharatiyata, the prime minister asserted during the event.

During his address, the prime minister also emphasised the importance of India's young population and the role it will play in the country's future.

He said, "Today, in this 'Amrit Kaal' of the nation, many factors are scripting the glorious chapter of India's bright future. Today, India has the world's largest youth population. The heights to which this huge youth power can take the country is beyond imagination."

The prime minister exhorted youngsters to give top priority to their health, saying when they are fit, they will be 'super hit' in their careers and life. He urged to shun the use of narcotics.

PM Modi also appealed to religious leaders and social organisations to launch a movement against the use of drugs.
