AIADMK and BJP form alliance, to fight assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry together
The AIADMK has officially become a part of NDA on Tuesday. Both BJP and AIADMK finalised the seat alliance for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The BJP will contest from five out of forty seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The party will also support the AIADMK in by-polls which will happen for 21 constituencies.

The AIADMK has officially become a part of NDA on Tuesday. Both BJP and AIADMK finalised the seat sharing for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The BJP will contest from five out of forty seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The party will also support the AIADMK in by-polls which will happen for 21 constituencies.
The BJP and the AIADMK jointly briefed the media in Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu CM E Palaniswami and Deputy CM O Panneerselvam addressed the media saying, "The AIADMK and BJP will have an alliance for Lok Sabha elections which will be a mega and winning alliance - BJP will contest on five seats in Lok Sabha elections and we will be contesting together in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry."
BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal also shared the details of the alliance.
"I am extremely delighted that BJP and AIADMK have accepted to contest the parliamentary polls and by polls along with other parties. We will support AIADMK in the by-elections on 21 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu," he said.
"We will start the chapter of Tamil Nadu with full confidence under the leadership of O Panneerselvam & E Palaniswami in state and under the leadership of Modiji in the Center. All parties together will form the National Democratic Alliance," he said.
The final numbers of the alliance are yet to be decided. Talks are still on with other parties.
PMK is getting 7 seats, BJP is getting 5 seats. The AIADMK will finalise the deal with other regional parties like DMDK,TK and IJK.
AIADMK is expected to contest from 20+ seats, say sources.
Earlier BJP president Amit Shah was to visit Chennai, however his visit was cancelled as the PMK ( Pattali Makkal Katchi) had not taken a decision. Sources also said that the PMK was also holding talks with DMK. But the negotiations of BJP with the PMK continued through Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
Tamil Nadu CM E Palianiswami and Deputy CM O Paneerselvam held talks with PMK founder S Ramadoss and youth wing president Anbumani Ramadoss at Hotel Crowne Plaza Park, say sources. Senior leaders of AIADMK were also present along with Piyush Goyal, say sources.
Second round of official talks was held between the leaders of AIADMK and BJP before they decided on the seat sharing, say sources.
