'Amit Shah has asked me to be at a meeting with the Prime Minister today evening,' says Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal hours before PM Modi's grand swearing-in ceremony
Hardiwar MP and BJP leader, Ramesh Pokhriyal, on Thursday, has said that he has received a call to be present at a meeting with Modi and at his swearing-in ceremony, from BJP president Amit Shah, while speaking to ANI.
Hours before Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony, with the nation teeming with anticipation to see who makes it to the 'Modi Cabinet 2.0', Hardiwar MP and BJP leader, Ramesh Pokhriyal, on Thursday, has said that he has received a call to be present at a meeting with Modi and at his swearing-in ceremony, from BJP president Amit Shah, while speaking to ANI.
Pokhriyal who is a former Chief Minister Uttarakhand was recently re-elected from the hill state's Haridwar constituency by winning 225674 votes or 52.37% of the votes.
Earlier in the day, there were reports that NDA allies including JD(U) and LJP in Bihar, Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, SAD in Punjab are set to get one ministerial berth each during PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony. As per inputs, further berths will be decided in due course.
Whether the leaders to be chosen for the Cabinet or for the post of the Minister of State will be decided on the stature of the MP nominated by their respective party chiefs.
Furthermore, sources have told Republic TV that the ministers who will take oath today will be meeting Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi at 4:30 PM at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg ahead of the ceremony which is set to take place at 7 pm. This meeting was referred to by Pokhriyal in his above statement.
On May 29, sources told Republic TV that over 40 ministers may take oath along with the Prime Minister on Thursday, with preparations underway for the biggest swearing-in ceremony that Rashtrapati Bhawan has ever hosted including a guest list of approximately 8000 people including state chiefs, party chiefs, state ministers, BJP state heads, all Lok Sabha MPs, foreign leaders, and other special invitees. The ceremony is to be held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan's foreground at 7 PM with the President of India presiding it.
