Nadda made a significant announcement, stating that the BJP would set aside 33% of government jobs for women.
Another significant promise in the manifesto is that the party would work with the Assam and Central governments to settle the complex interstate border dispute between Mizoram and Assam. Additionally, he declared that they would stop at nothing to defend the rights of Mizoram's citizens.
The pledge to start the "Mizoram Education Upgrade" and "Zirlai Simathawana Mission," with budgets of Rs. 250 crore and Rs. 350 crore, respectively, to modernise the current government colleges and schools with cutting-edge facilities, was another highlight of the Mizoram agenda.
Nadda also stated that the BJP will establish a special investigation team to probe 'irregularities and corruption' in the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Programme, the flagship scheme of the Mizo National Front government.
November 7 is election day for the 40-member Mizoram assembly, and December 3 is vote-counting day.
In the last assembly polls in 2018, the BJP is contesting for 39 seats while in this year's polls the saffron party is vying for 23 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is making its electoral debut in Mizoram with four candidates.
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga and the president of the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) recently reportedly declared that his party will not collaborate with the BJP in the upcoming election for the 40-member state legislature.
