'Congress' anti-women stance will cost them', says Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi leading raft of political soothsayers following Triple Talaq's passage

After the Triple Talaq Bill was passed for the second time in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, BJP and its allies have reacted to it and to the Congress' opposition to the Bill. 

The Congress and a few other parties including the BJP ally AIADMK had staged a walk out opposing the Bill. They had cited the criminalisation of the triple talaq as their key objection and questioned the Centre on its motive behind the Bill.

The BJP and its allies, in sort of a unified voice called the Congress's stance anti-women and cautioned the party saying it will pay in the polls for opposing the Bill.

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that their Opposition will cost them. "Congress will pay for this ' paap '. Their opposition to the Bill will cost them," he said.

Union Minister Hansraj Ahir called the Congress 'anti-women'. "All Congress does is walk out. They are against women," he said.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also warned national party saying, "Congress ko mahnga padega."

Meenakshi Lekhi, BJP spokesperson also reiterated Naqvi saying that the Opposition is politicising the issue, "Politics is being played over the issue. I ask Muslim women to entail full benefits of PM's initiatives. I hope those who are opposing it will have better judgment, if not the people will teach them,"  she said.

Arvind Sawant, Shiv Sena accused the Opposition of politicising the issue, "We have walked the talk, others are politicising the issue ahead of the polls."

Law Minister Ravi Shankar those supported the Bill and hoped that it will be passed in the Rajya Sabha. "This is was a historic debate. I thank those who supported the Bill. I am very happy. I hope it will be passed in Rajya Sabha too.

Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore said, "The way Congress walked out today, it exposes their vote bank politics again. It’s their diplomatic nature. Now they'll try to stop it in Rajya Sabha. But our philosophy is to strengthen everyone and work together."
