In a major setback to the grand old party, Congress National Media Coordinator Rachit Seth has resigned from his post on Thursday, claiming that 'after Rahul Gandhi's resignation as Congress President, there is no meaning for me to continue on this post.'

In his resignation letter tendered to Congress Communications In-charge and Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, he states that his blood will always crave for a liberal and progressive India, with former (late) Prime Minister Indira Gandhi shall remain his inspiration.

Here is his resignation letter:

In the previous week, after months of internal conflict, following the Congress being decimated in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Rahul Gandhi tweeted his resignation letter saying that the values and ideals of the Congress party have served as 'lifeblood of the nation'. In his letter he added that he has fought against the saffron party with utmost dedication and force.

Sensing the void in party leadership, General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia took to Twitter and announced his resignation from the post taking responsibility for the Lok Sabha loss. Similarly,  Congress Mumbai chief Milind Deora also issued his resignation saying that he was looking forward to playing a national role in Delhi.

Congress also dissolved all its 280 block committees in the national capital, as decided by the Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit. Following this development, Congress also dissolved its Telangana block committee which had 120 members.

The party has  been entangled in a leadership turmoil since Rahul Gandhi offered his resignation as Congress Chief during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on May 25, as the Congress managed to secure only 52 seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections which also saw Gandhi lose his bastion -Amethi, to BJP leader Smriti Irani. Many leaders have demanded the party leadership to choose a young leader to succeed Gandhi.
