CPI(M)'s Sitaram Yechury latest to join Chandrababu Naidu's united front, promises repeat of 2004 coalition success
"In 2004, UPA was created after the polls, the coalition was formed in the states. The same will happen in 2019, the coalition will happen in states after the polls, gatbhandhan will happen in the states," Yechury said.
After Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday met with CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. with the agenda of a United Front against the NDA for the 2019 polls, the Left party chief assured a coalition like that of 2004 will take place where it will happen post elections and will happen in the states.
"In 2004, UPA was created after the polls, the coalition was formed in the states. The same will happen in 2019, the coalition will happen in states after the polls, gatbhandhan will happen in the states," he said.
He also spoke about his party's campaigning in the state of West Bengal. "We have a slogan in West Bengal, Modi sarkar hatao desh bachao, Trinamool hatao desh bachao," he said.

Interestingly, Naidu has been seeking Trinamool Congress head Mamata Banerjee's support for the alliance and emphasized her role in forming the same.
In a separate event, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said that the Congress will form a coalition with other parties post polls in each state. He also said that he was confident about the Mahagatbandhan's victory. "We will form state-wise coalitions, we have a coalition in Tamil Nadu, we have a coalition in Telangana, we have a coalition in Maharashtra. If in each state the coalition wins, then the Mahagatbandhan wins. Mahagatbandhan's victory is a victory of the coalition in 29 states." He added that he was confident of a victory of the Mahagatandhan.
With the intention of 'saving democracy', Chandrababu Naidu has been meeting with several leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Farooq Abdullah, MK Stalin, Deve Gowda, HD Kumaraswamy, E Palaniswami to stitch an anti-BJP alliance.
On Friday, after the TDP chief met with JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda and HD Kumaraswamy, the Karnataka CM said that he is expecting a repeat of 1996, where a coalition was formed under the stewardship of Deve Gowda.
