Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari wants Anti-Romeo squads in the National Capital, AAP's Sanjay Singh contradicts

Hailing the anti-Romeo squad in BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari has said that it should be welcome in the National Capital as well. Speaking to media on Saturday, the BJP MP from North-East Delhi praised the anti-Romeo squad saying that it is a very good thing and it should be started in Delhi as it is related to the safety of women in the National Capital. "Anti-Romeo squad is a very good thing & it is being started in Uttar Pradesh again. It should be welcomed as it is related to women safety. In my opinion, it should be started in Delhi also," Manoj Tiwari said speaking in the matter. However, opposing BJP's opinion on starting anti-Romeo squads in Delhi, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that the Arvind Kejriwal-led party will not "hooliganism" in the National Capital. "It will become difficult for girls and boys to go to colleges together. You will run anti-Romeo in Delhi? BJP also made a claim in its manifesto that it will form an anti-Romeo squad from its own party. I think this is a thinking a failed Police which has not been able to provide security to the women. We will not allow this hooliganism in Delhi," Sanjay Singh said. However, the teams had drawn much criticism from certain sections of society after allegations of them “harassing” consenting couple surfaced. Meanwhile, the Noida Police held a meeting of Anti-Romeo squads on Wednesday wherein it was decided that members of the squad will, in an attempt to make public places safe, issue red cards to suspects. The city police will issue "red cards" to offenders found harassing women at public places in the state, in order to send a warning to them before initiating criminal proceedings against them if they are caught indulging in the act again.
