Gautam Gambhir welcomes Narendra Modi, hails his triumphant return
Gautam Gambhir took to social media to welcome Narendra Modi after his successful US visit. Gambhir also mentioned about why he could not be present there

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed at the Palam Technical Airport in New Delhi on Saturday night after the culmination of his comprehensive United States of America visit. As he walked down the stairs from the Air India One aircraft, he greeted all those present to welcome him at the tarmac. First, the working President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), JP Nadda welcomed him. Other Delhi BJP leaders and Members of Parliament such as Hans Raj Hans, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Manoj Tiwari, Ramesh Bidhuri, Vijay Goel and Satish Upadhyay were also present there, to receive the PM. However, one BJP MP could not be present for the occasion. Nonetheless, he had a special welcome message for PM Modi on social media. He was Gautam Gambhir.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Gautam Gambhir wrote that he would have gone to congratulate Modi personally at the airport but could not go due to health reasons. Gambhir then hailed PM Modi by saying that the voice of 1.3 billion is back after roaring at the world stage and that Narendra Modi's unprecedented success has redefined Indo-US relations for generations to come.

The US visit
After landing in Houston, PM Modi met energy sector CEOs and also interacted with the Kashmiri Pandits, Dawoodi Bohra, and the Sikh delegations. This was followed by the 'Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures' event which was addressed by PM Modi as well as US President Trump. Thereafter, the PM participated in various other engagements at the United Nations including the Climate Action Summit, the high-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage, the event to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and so forth. Furthermore, he delivered the plenary address at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum and held a roundtable with high-ranking officials of American companies. He has also met several other Heads of the states including Iran President Hassan Rouhani. His speech at the UN General Assembly, where he highlighted India’s achievements and the future plans, brought his visit to an end.
