Congress President Rahul Gandhi has quoted Leo Tolstoy while putting forth a united front with his Madhya Pradesh senior leaders and Chief Minister-hopefuls Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath.

In the tweet, Rahul Gandhi is arm-in-arm with both Scindia and Kamal Nath and appears to be making a pitch for patience over the announcement of the Chief Minister.

Hectic parlays have been ongoing at the Congress president's residence over who will lead both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In both states it appears to be a case of old guard versus new as Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot are similarly in contention to be Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

As per sources, at the hours-long meeting, that was also attended by Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, the latter two were in favour of Kamal Nath and Ashok Gehlot being Chief Ministers, while Rahul Gandhi is said to have favoured Scindia and Pilot.

While leaving Rahul Gandhi's residence in New Delhi just as the above tweet was posted, both Kamal Nath and Scindia said that they were leaving for Bhopal but confirmed that the announcement will be made on Thursday.

"It's not a race, it's not about kursi (the chair), it's about serving the people", Scindia said to reporters.

The question of who will be Chief Minister for the three states where the Congress is to form governments -- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh -- has been open since even before the election results, what with the party's policy of not announcing CM candidates. However, with the results now out, the party cadres appear on edge, gathering in large numbers, backing their favoured leaders, sloganeering and counter-sloganeering. In the state of Rajasthan, at least, this has caused some amount of chaos as Sachin Pilot's supporters blocked roads in Dausa seeking Pilot to be made CM.
