President of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) M K Stalin has welcomed the Indo-China informal summit at Mamallapuram and says 'let the meet light up world community'. M K Stalin also took to Twitter and welcomed the President of China and stated that the summit between PM Modi and Xi Jinping will bring the people and the economy together.

M K Stalin on Tuesday said the upcoming Indo-China summit to be held at Mamallapuram was something that the state was proud of.
"The summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping to be held in Tamil Nadu is a thing for pride for the State," he said in a statement.
Modi - Xi- Jinping meet is an honor for Tamilnadu
MK Stalin in a statement said that the Chinese revolution by Mao turned into a foundation for social, economic, and political changes in several countries. He was happier that Xi Jinping was visiting the old port city Mamallapuram which had close trade links with ancient China.
The DMK chief further said, "let the talks bring light(indicating a positive impact) not only for the two nations but also to the global community."
Tamil Nadu and China had trade ties dating back to many centuries and Chinese monk Hiuen Tsang had visited Kancheepuram and the summit was now set to be held in Mamallapuram which falls under Kancheepuram district, Stalin said. It is also said that 2000-year-old Chinese coins were discovered in the State. Stalin further thanked the central government for choosing Tamil Nadu for the informal meet.
Modi-Xi Jinping meet schedule
As per sources, both the leaders are expected to arrive at Chennai airport on the evening of October 11, following which they will reach Mahabalipuram through road. The sources have also added that PM Modi is hosting a dinner for Chinese dignitaries on October 11 night which will be followed by cultural programs. The informal-bilateral meeting which is taking place between PM Modi Chinese President will be of diplomatic importance since the trade factors will be discussed.
