In a fresh attack aimed at Delhi Chief Minister, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday asserted that lost in waves of the beaches of Goa, Arvind Kejriwal could not see the poor state of Yamuna River. Unveiling what he referred to as the truth of the Yamuna, Manoj Tiwari said that it was the Najagarh canal that was the root cause of the pollution of the water body. The BJP MP also challenged the leaders of the AAP to accompany him to the Najafgarh canal 'if they had any shame left'.

Manoj Tiwari exposes the 'truth of the Yamuna river'
Standing at the bay of the Najafgarh canal, Manoj Tiwari shot a video in which, he pointed out," This is not a river, this is Najafgarh canal, which contains poisonous water, poisonous waste. Two drains merge with the Najafgarh canal, and then it merges with the water of the Yamuna."
"The water coming from the Wazirabad bridge from Haryana is clean and it is the dirty water coming from the Najafgarh canal which is actually polluting the Yamuna. Over 70% cause of the deplorable condition is the Najafgarh canal," the BJP MP further said, adding that neither has Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister of Delhi ever made a statement nor come to see this. "He instead blames the Haryana Government for the poor state of Yamuna," he further added.

Chhath banned in Yamuna to hide the poor state of the river
On Monday, Manoj Tiwari had taken a boat ride in the toxic foam-covered Yamuna ahead of the Chhath Puja, and asserted that his 'heart was broken'. Attacking the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi state government, Manoj Tiwari said that banning festivities for Chhath Puja was actually an attempt by CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia to sweep under the carpet the deplorable situation of the River Yamuna.
"They (APP cabinet members) tried their best to hide the condition of Yamuna from the public glare. First, they imposed a blanket ban on the celebration of Chhath. When we came on the streets to protest against the ban, they uplifted the ban. They allowed the Chhath Puja but added this one clause that the festivities won't take place in or around the Yamuna, " said Manoj Tiwari.
Last week, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), led by LG Anil Baijal, issued orders allowing public celebrations of Chhath Pooja only in defined sites, which exclude any venue along the Yamuna's banks.
